Optimizing your Audio Workstation’s Architecture for Maximum Creativity presented by Intel Technologies

Join this Intel A3E Workshop session for a Deep Dive into ideas and actual integrations that will enhance your audio and content production system’s architecture. Both mobile and desktop.

You’ll learn about the most critical piece of the audio workstation (after the CPU of course) which is the storage. For many cases in audio and high end content production, storage can be the bottleneck of greater application performance, while limiting your CPU waiting for data/content delivery.

You’ll learn about state-of-the-art solid-state drive (SSD) products, and the way they are changing our and improving creativity as well as user experience with Intel Optane SSDs. But hardware is nothing without software… we will also share how software vendors have taken advantage of the hardware capabilities to make their products better while reducing application overheads. A great example that will be explored is how software developers can learn to make hardware changes to achieve enhanced performance with their software development projects, similar to recent integrations that Vienna Instruments, an innovative and leading sample player with human performance control. A must attend Workshop!

Who should attend? Music Technologists, Audio Developers, Software Developers, Systems Architects, Product Development and R&D Engineers

Music and the Brain: The Neuroscience of Musicians and their Fans powered by Secret Chord Laboratories

The Secret Chord Laboratories (SCL) team is presenting an hour-long workshop to discuss their neuroscience research on music production (improvisation), music perception (popular music enjoyment), and how insights from these fields are influencing music technology development today.

During the workshop, you will have a chance to meet Scott A. Miles, PhD (CEO), David S. Rosen, PhD (COO), Brian Owens (CCO), and Rob Abelow (VP of Business Strategy & Development). The team will share their music neuroscience research and discuss the development of SCL’s doprTM, a new powerful artificial intelligence platform that will help both industry and artists themselves make better decisions by providing insights into how new music will be received in the brains of intended listeners. They will also provide their unique perspective into how emerging technologies are shaping the landscape of the recorded music industry.

Scott will share the fascinating findings of his doctoral research on the neuroscience of popular music enjoyment at Georgetown University, which is the basis for SCL. David will be speaking about his research into the brain-states associated with expertise, creativity, and the experience of “flow” during jazz guitar improvisation. Brian will share his remarkable story about going from a live hip hop artist to an ambassador of music neuroscience. Rob is the newest member of the SCL team. Also an artist manager and the founder of Roll Call Records, Rob will explore the future for independent artists and how engaging with new technology can help break through the noise.

If you are interested about how the Fourth Industrial Revolution will impact the making and consumption of music, or if you’re just curious about what is going on in the brain that will make people travel hundreds of miles to get chills from hearing that one song played live, you will not want to miss this workshop.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC LICENSING: Micro-Licensing

When physical music sales eroded, the demand for revenue by major labels shifted to touring, and music licensing. With commercial and classic music license fees drastically inflated, a new opportunity emerged for independent artists to gain exposure through synch licensing. Now indie music has overwhelmed music supply chain, creating yet another bottleneck. Join A3E to explore how the music industry will adapt its licensing methods to meet the financial powerhouses of the future: Content Creators.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC ROYALTIES: Blockchain = Maximum Revenue

By now, most artists realize that royalty payments from the major streaming services are not the basis for a stable household income. One solution that continues to gain momentum is using blockchain’s distributed ledger technology to improve the release process, streamline royalty payments and remove unnecessary middlemen from the financial chain. The result is a transparent system for music to be produced and consumed with fast, accurate payments. Meet the leaders in blockchain technology, and discover how it will maximize your revenue.
