A3E Workshop: Thursday, January 16th • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Essential Game Audio Skills In this one hour workshop Joe Kataldo, CEO of Mad Wave Audio, LLC, will demonstrate a variety of concepts and techniques used in game audio production. You will have a chance to learn about the main differences between linear and interactive audio, how to create seamless loops and produce layered music and SFX, how to design ambiances from the ground up using the latest in spatialization software, and how to create assets that retain their low-end even on small mobile devices. This workshop will be the perfect introduction for anyone interested in starting a career in game audio, and a chance for any audio professional with a background in linear media to learn about essential game audio skills and best practices such as: • Audio editing techniques needed to create seamless music and SFX loops; • Music and SFX layering techniques and how to use multiband compression to create clarity and impact • Design ambiances from the ground up using spatialization software normally used only in VR; • Creating and enhancing low-end for mobile games.
